I grew up at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was here in the shadow and protection of these old, sturdy hills that I was free to roam, to think, and to explore.
I grew up with cows next door and creeks in the back yard. My favorite
place to be was under the roots of an old oak tree. I would settle in and write poetry or read. My desire to teach became my calling and my desire to write became my passion.
For many years, I have worked in the classroom and privately as an English teacher and Reading Specialist. My writing has taken me many different places, including a stint with the rodeo and mainstage theatre.
Around the age of five, I had a mystical experience that proved to me that we are more than mind and body – we are spiritual beings too. This experience gave me a glimpse into the unseen, the immeasurable love that surrounds us, and the light that can defeat the darkness. However, as powerful as this experience, it did not exempt me from difficult situations in my life. I lived a fragmented life for many years: I got used to it, complacent, and then afraid to change.
But deep down inside I am a seeker. And I bet you are too.
Many years ago, I began the journey back to myself. Slowly, I became aware that I was not alone, and even more exciting was the knowledge that when I was ready the universe aligned to help me. I began leading writing workshops and retreats. I trained as an energy healer - which is a powerful tool to help us clear the old blockages - studied mindfulness and contemplative prayer, and learned to embrace my intuitive gifts. Recently, I completed a two year, comprehensive course in Spiritual Direction. It is because of the challenges and tough times that I can listen and share compassionately.
I am honored to provide for you a sacred space to help you pull the pieces back together and to ultimately live the life you are meant to live.
